Violence Prevention Educator
NOTE: 1) This position is available as an unpaid academic internship or as a paid work-study student employment position.

Violence Prevention Educators (VPEs) are Auraria students who provide workshops on a variety of topics related to interpersonal violence (IPV). Workshops can be customized to run 60-90 minutes long so they can be easily implemented during a class period, staff meeting, or conference. They are interactive sessions and intend to engage the folks in the discussion of these difficult issues. VPEs also conduct campus outreach and help plan and facilitate campus events to educate folks about IPV and its intersecting issues.
Onboarded undergraduate and graduate prevention educators will be trained to provide consistent, thorough information about relationship violence, sexual violence, and stalking, and related topics to the Auraria campus community. They will be involved in the design of prevention and education programs and their implementation.
Prevention Educators will actively engage in campus awareness activities, classroom presentations, orientations, social media content, and educational presentations to various campus groups. Prevention Education Interns must be self-starters and able to fulfill their hours with little direction.
We are looking for flexible and committed individuals who are dedicated to the cause. Prevention Educators will develop presentation, facilitation, and leadership skills through participation in this opportunity. We serve the University of Colorado Denver, the Community College of Denver and Metropolitan State University of Denver.
