LUNCH & LEARN SERIES

Each semester, The Phoenix Center at Auraria hosts lunch and learn workshops free to Auraria Campus.

Workshops either cover the PCA’s core prevention curriculum or custom prevention curriculum. Free food is provided to attendees of the in-person workshops. Learn more about the upcoming Spring 2026 workshops below.

REPRODUCTIVE COERCION

Join us to learn about what reproductive coercion is, who is most impacted, barriers survivors face when looking for support, and how to support survivors who disclose surviving this form of violence.

This training will be hosted on Tuesday, February 3rd from 12:30PM-1:45PM in Tivoli Multicultural Lounge (261).

SUPPORTING SURVIVORS (VIRTUAL STAFF & FACULTY TRAINING)

Join The Phoenix Center at Auraria to learn about your role as a responsible employee, why students on campus may choose not to disclose being a survivor of interpersonal violence, and how to best support students who disclose being a survivor.

This training will be hosted on Thursday, February 5th from 12:30PM-2PM on Zoom.

Once signing up, you will receive a calendar invitation with the Zoom Link for the workshop. 

While the content in this training is targeted towards staff & faculty members, anyone is welcome to attend.

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS: WITH YOURSELF AND OTHERS

This interactive workshop will educate folks about communication styles, boundary setting, and how to develop healthy relationships (with ourselves) and others. Folks will also learn how to differentiate between an unhealthy and abusive relationship.

This training will be hosted on Monday, February 16th from 12:30PM-1:45PM in Tivoli Multicultural Lounge (261).

PSYCHOLOGY OF VICTIM BLAMING (VIRTUAL)

This educational workshop will examine victim blaming through the lens of psychological theories to understand the manifestations of victim blaming, its impacts, and strategies to reduce victim blaming behaviors. 

This training will be hosted on Monday, February 23rd from 2PM-3:15PM on ZOOM.

Join the PCA to develop media literacy skills around identifying harmful and healthy representations of relationships and identity in media. Attendees will have a chance to practice their newly developed skill during the workshop
